Hello Everyone!

Today, the sites in New Bedford and Dartmouth will be taking part in a Hanukkah lesson.  They will also be spending some time learning about this traditional "Festival of Lights."

Reminder:  We look forward to seeing parents and children from our Donald St. location tonight from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. for a "Holiday Fun Night" to enjoy a story with the "Grinch", while snacking on some cookies, and "Grinch" juice or milk.  Don't forget to come dressed in your pajamas!

Good Morning from Little People's College!

This morning, the sites in New Bedford and Dartmouth will be decking the halls, during their Tree Trimming Parties.  Children will be decorating with special handmade ornaments.  They will listen to holiday music and enjoy hot cocoa and cookies as a special snack.  Children will take their ornaments home just before Christmas to help decorate your family's tree!

Today is also the beginning of "Santa's Workshop" for our Church St. location.  It will run at the site until Tuesday, December 10th.  Church St. & Sassaquin will be showing the film "Polar Express" during all of the festivities :)

Today and tomorrow, children at our 321 Rockdale Ave. site will be visiting "Santa's Workshop" at the 374  Rockdale Ave. location.

We would also like to remind all parents of children at the New Bedford and Dartmouth locations that we will be making Christmas ornaments this month, and need a picture of your child.  Please send us one so that we can start this project as soon as possible!

Tomorrow will mark the start of "Santa's Workshop" at the sites in New Bedford and Dartmouth.

Sassaquin will spend some time Christmas shopping for their loved ones tomorrow at our workshop located at the site.  Santa's helpers will be on hand to help the children select gifts!

Tomorrow, our Donald St. location will be holding their very own "Nursery Rhyme Olympics" to go along with their theme for the month.  This is a fun-filled event where they will play games using classic nursery rhymes.

*Don't forget!  Orders and payments for Donald St.'s Fall fundraiser with Yankee Candle will be due Friday, November 1st.  All proceeds raised will fund special events and field trips for the children.*

Tomorrow will also mark the start of the Halloween celebrations with the Dartmouth St. school age program.

This morning, the upstairs preschoolers at Church St. will be going to Keith's Box Farm.  They will enjoy pumpkin picking and a hayride, followed by a special snack.

Tonight will be open house for parents of children at the Donald St. location, from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m.  Come and view the special projects your children have created, while you enjoy pizza and refreshments!

10/9/13

This morning, the Church St. location's infant and toddler program will be pumpkin picking on the playground!  They will enjoy some time at our very own "LPC Pumpkin Patch", picking small gourd pumpkins on our playground.

Tonight will be the start of "Open House" season at LPC in New Bedford and Dartmouth.

Our 321 Rockdale Ave. location will be open from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. for you to meet your child's teacher and to hear about all of the wonderful events planned for the upcoming months.

All of the children at LPC have been working hard for the past several weeks making special projects for parents to see.  There will also be delicious pizza and "kid-created" baked goodies.  We hope you can join us!

Fire Safety

STOP, DROP & ROLL your way into our fun-filled week of fire safety education!  Throughout the week, children will participate in a variety of activities and projects to teach fire safety.  The Donald St. location will also enjoy a visit from a local firefighter tomorrow, October 8th.

Jumpstart's "Read for the Record"

Good morning.  Today, millions of adults and children across the country, along with all preschool children at the New Bedford/Dartmouth LPC locations will be reading "Otis" by Loren Long to celebrate literacy and help break a world record!  Jumpstart's "Read for the Record"  in partnership with the Pearson Foundation brings together millions to celebrate literacy and support the effort to promote early childhood education.  Jumpstart's mission is to work towards the day that every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed.  Together we can help close the kindergarten readiness gap!

Kindergarten

Reminder:  Pre-kindergarten children from the Dartmouth and New Bedford locations of LPC will join together for a "Transition to Kindergarten Day" at 52 Donald St. South Dartmouth, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

This outdoor event will help ease the children into the new year by allowing them to meet children from other LPC locations who may be with them at public school.  They will  be grouped by their prospective public schools, and enjoy events such as an "all about kindergarten" circle time, making friendship bracelets, as well as having some free time to get to know each other.  They will be ending their celebration with an icy treat and a science show by Mad Science!

Each child will also receive a backpack filled with back to school supplies and a folder complete with a certificate, transition information for parents, and a children's book.  It is sure to be a fun morning for all!

The Mad Scientist will be visiting our 128 School Age Program!

The Klubhouse and Bridge Street will be enjoying the Bubble Bounce!

The Wareham School Age Program will be heading to Pump and Jump at 9am!

LPC will be running transportation in snow mode on Wednesday, February 13, 2013.  Thank you.

LPC update 2/11/13 - 8 PM

We are open tomorrow but will not have private kindergarten. We will not run transportation except to/ from Fairhaven public schools.

UPDATE 2-11-13 5:15 AM

All locations of Little People's College will be open today (normal hours). There will be NO Transportation.

Bridge St. and Wareham educators: at this time, your school is not operational. If it is not operational in the morning, it is likely that you will be reporting to another location in either Acushnet, Mattapoisett or Fairhaven. Please call your school for further details. Little People's College - 9:00 PM 2-10-13

There will be no transportation tomorrow and all "operational" sites will be open. As of 9:30pm on 2/10/13, the Wareham location & the Bridge St. location in Fairhaven (behind Wal-Mart) are not operational. If they are not operational in the morning and you would like your child to be placed on a list for care at an alternate location in Acushnet, Mattapoisett or Fairhaven, please email us at info@littlepeoplescollege.com or text us at 774-473-9585. Please include your child's name and date of birth. We will post an update at 5:30am on Monday, 2/11/13. If your child's location will remain closed and you have contacted us via email or text, we will contact you after this time. Thank you and stay safe.
